Gray settled down in a quiet part of the cafetaria, his tray of food untouched as he fidgeted with a piece of paper and a pen. He was no good in trying to put his thoughts into words, but he knew that this time he had to. The date with Jake was fresh in his memory, the kiss even more so. It had been amazing, a great night, but he knew that it wasn't something either of them wanted to do again.
No. He was thankful, and even more so to Reese who had understood exactly what her younger brother needed. It had set his thoughts straight and he'd thrown away the razor with an undefinable look in his eyes. What had he been thinking? There were still marks on his wrists but he hadn't bothered to hide them as he sat down in a cheap, plastic chair, sipping from his coke and looking at the clean sheet of paper.

Aidan walked in rubbing his eyes. He woke up a few minutes ago and was still very sleepy. And that meant grumpy. Yes, Aidan Kinney had a dark side too. He was a night owl. He could stay up late and be very creative but he was practically unconscious before 2pm. "coffee. Black" He ordered pulling out a few coins from his pocket with a painful look on his face. He needed more money

Graham was sitting fairly near the counter, against the wall, and laughed softly when Aidan came in. They hadn't talked since that night at the bar, though they had left that night as friends. Nothing more, which had stung at the time, but left him satisfied after a while because friendship was so much more important than getting together with a guy who really wasn't the one for him. He waved at him when Aidan scanned the room, wondering if the guy could even see him with the obvious sleepy attitude.

Aidan couldn't see him. not at first at least. It took him a few minutes and a few yawns to do that. And one rather loud curse, which sounded rather strange in his innocent lips. But he burned his tongue and that was something that deserved a good curse. He walked to Graham slowly, long fingers wrapped around the plastic cup

"Morning" Gray greeted him, far happier than he would have at any other morning, but well, he was finally going back to the boy he could be, the boy he should have been. Sure, he wasn't the best looking guy, nor would he ever claim to be. But he was different. Not hiding anymore. Brushing a strand of hair from his face, he took another sip from his coke. He had missed this. Little things, like hanging out with his friends.

"Hi" Aidan grunted sitting down across from Graham. The guy was cheerful. Too cheerful for Aidan's liking at the moment. He yawned again and took another tentative sip of his coffee. He could use something to eat too. He was hungry but he was also broke. All the savings he had were safe in the bank waiting till he had enough to get that guitar. And that meant no money to spend on the everyday stuff. "What makes you so happy today?" he asked in a sleepy voice

Graham pushed his plate of food in Aidans direction. He'd decided for something healthy today. Sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, cheese, that kind of thing. Also some fruit salad. He really wanted to take up running again too. He'd definitely lacked the energy for anything lately. "Had a date last night" He picked a strawberry from the salad, grinning before he took a bite from it. "And a pretty good kiss too."

"no thanks. not hungry." Aidan said pushing the plate back in Gray's direction, although his eyes said something different. He focused them on his coffee cup. "a date? With...Juli?" He wasn't sure he remembered the name right. And a good kiss. He smiled softly remembering his kiss with Christian but his smile vanished as soon as he remembered what Adia said about him and his preys

Gray rolled his eyes. "Sure 'Dan. You're not screaming feed me at all." He picked at a piece of pineapple, grinning at him and giving him the cute patented puppy-look. "Just eat. I have too much to finish on my own anyway." His face didn't fall when Aidan mentioned Juli's name, in fact, his eyes darkened and he looked more determined than ever. "No. That's step two of the plan. If I can ever find the right words."

Aidan narrowed his eyes and looked at him darkly. Making fun of his skinny body. Again. But he accepted his offer this time simply because yes, he was too hungry and he knew Gray wasn't mean just taking care of him. "Not Juli. That's good." He nodded taking a piece of a pinneaple. HE chewed on it slowly savoring the taste

"I don't know. I guess it was. Though it made me realize that I don't want just anyone. I want him." Gray rubbed at his forehead. He cared about Aidan, and valued his opinions more than most people he hung out with. It was just a vibe he got from the older man. That he could trust him with anything. Aidan was up front and honest about things and he liked and respected that. "So I decided...I'm going to give it one last shot."

"at least you know what you want" Aidan nodded when he finished his pineapple. "And it looks like you're stubborn about it. Good." He took a sip of his coffee thinking about himself now. He wondered what he wanted. There were a few things. All practically out of his reach. Sometimes he wished he had a magic wand

"I don't know if it's good. I just know...that I'll regret it if I don't. Because I'll keep wondering what would have happened if I had. And I'm sick of that. I'm sick of waiting and thinking and always being on the sideline." He'd been there for far too long, watching other people and always wanting to be loved and looked at like people looked at those in the center. "I want to be loved. And fcuk it, I think I deserve it too."

"That's the spirit" Aidan said with a faint smile. He wanted to be love too. For once. He didn't know if he deserved but he couldn't remember doing anything particularly terrible and was generally a nice person so he figured after his childhood he deserved some love. If only someone could really love him

"So...how about we both find a boyfriend? I'd like to see you happy 'Dan" Gray grinned at him, finishing the last of his coke. "So how about it? You help me write this letter, I help you find love?" He really wanted Aidan to be happy. Didn't know whoever the kid had the hots for, but they'd find someone. Someone who appreciated him, all of him. And didn't try to change him because Aidan was too cute for words.
