Christian crouched down on all fours, crawling across the grass like a cheetah getting ready to pounce his prey. His target - a raven haired little girl sitting on a baby blanket some feet away. “Brooklyn..” He cooed as the child looked this way and that for the source of the familiar voice. “Oh my little Brookie Mack..where are you?” He edged forward until he was just behind her, pressing a wet kiss to her cheek that made her jump and squeal and clap her hands excitedly as she finally found the man she was looking for. “There you are..”

Aidan stopped playing and pushed the glasses up the bridge of his nose. The day was warm and sunny. He reached out for the bottle of mineral water at his side and took a sip.It was his favorite spot. Either here, under the tree or near the pavement. But he'd sit there when he was trying to earn something and here when he was practicing. Though even here he'd get an occasional dime or two. He smiled watching the man with the baby.

Christian laughed picking up his princess to hold her up in the above his head like she was flying, only to receive a few droplets of baby drool to the top of his head. He grimaced. It had only been a couple of days since he had been handed his child for the keeping, and he meant to take every effort to make up for the lost time.
He waved to the man staring at them a few yards away, liking the fact that when ever the two of them were out in the public all eyes seemed to be on him. Brooke was like his personal little babe magnet. "Look my angel. Somebody is staring. He looks cute too. Good job.."

Aidan didn't know the other man noticed his staring. He waved back then took of his glasses and started cleaning them, seemingly focusing on them. But a few minutes later he put them back on and looked back at the man with the baby. A beautiful view. The little girl wasn't a pain like most of the kids. She wasn't crying all the time, annoying the man. Aidan thought for a moment about his own parents and how they used to treat him

Christian sat there in silence for a few more moments, waiting on the stranger to look away but that never seemed to happen. He held Brooke a little tighter to his chest. It was one thing to ogle the cuteness of seeing father and daughter together but not that much. "Somebody seems to be having a staring problem.." He called loudly in a sort of sing song voice. "What's your name Lover Boy?"

It was when the man called that Aidan realized he was still staring at him. He was so lost in his thoughts he didn't even notice that. "Um...sorry" Aidan called back averting his eyes quickly. "I didn't mean to...sorry" He focused his eyes and hands on his guitar as he was tuning it. The man asked his name but what kind of question was it? A Lover Boy? "Kinney" He said

"Kinney?" Christian repeated with a small nod of his head. The guy was interesting to look at but a little too shy and awkward for his tastes. He glanced at the guitar that he was tuning and then down at the baby in his arms, wrapping the blanket she had been sitting on around her as he stood. "I'm Christian.." He shook his head. "Chris Tait at your service" He sat down next to him without even asking if he wanted his company, stealing a sip of his so called mineral water. "You are a guitarist. Me too. Any good?"

"Aidan Kinney" Aidan answered. He stopped playing and watched the make take his water with a raised eyebrow despite his shyness. "You're asking me if I'm good?" He asked surprised. How could he know. So the man was a guitarist. Interesting. Aidan wondered if he studied with him. He couldn't remember seeing him befor and he definitely would remember that. The man sat beside him. Aidan didn't really mind.

"Yes that's exactly what I am asking you. Unless you have some sort of hearing problem as well.." Christian snorted, tickling Brooke's sides to get her to giggle and clap her hands once more. "I bet you are, you just have that look about you. Singing is really my forte, but I can play loads of instruments. Guitars..pianos..whatever..I've even been known to play an accordion or two. You don't talk much"

"you do it for both of us" Aidan said slightly surprised. The guy was a bit rude to be honest. "And I think it's not my job to judge if I'm good or bad." His modesty wouldn't allow him that though apparently Chrisitan didn't have that problem. "But if you think I have that look about me then I can only say thank you" He said politely but the corners of his lips twitched in a tiny smile. He pushed the glasses up his nose again. "You must be pretty talented. To play so many intruments and sing too"

"Your welcome" Christian shrugged, smiling brightly. He was rude but it came with the package. Half of the time he didn't know when he had crossed some sort of unspoken barrier. "I'm ok. I have to do something to keep myself occupied. Besides, it helps to get noticed if you are able to do more than one thing. There are a lot of singers and guitar players around here. You have to make yourself stand out if you want to get that record deal. But I'm sure you won't have any problem doing that"

Actually Aidan wasn't sure of that. Especially after this speach. Make yourself stand out. Aidan didn't know how. "I guess you're right. There are many guitar players" His small smile vanished. He'd never get good enough to get noticed and he'd be playing on the streets for the rest of his life. "But I see you have someone to keep you occupied" He said trying to change the subject a little and smiling again as he looked at the little girl in Christian's arms

Christian noticed the way Aidan's smile vanished when he said it and he absently reached over to rub the strangers upper her arm for a few seconds. "Don't worry. You'll get noticed. Stick next to a guy like me and I'll help drag your way to the top.." He suggested. Actually, all Chris had to do was to throw another tantrum in front of mother and father and he'd have his deal. But he figured it would be so much more sweeter if he earned it on his own. "Yeah..I have my little distraction. This is Brooklyn. The love of my life" He smiled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I just got her back.."

Aidan felt awkward with the other touching him but he didn't flinch. Although he was worried for a moment. After all he could still remember the gay bar he'd been performing at a few days ago. "I other words I should follow you" He said rather confused. Fortunately the other caught the distraction and turned to the baby in his lap. "Isn't she too young for a girlfriend?" Aidan teased. "Hello Brooklyn. I'm 'Dan" He reached out and shook her tiny hand

"Yeah, you should follow me. I don't mind helping my fellow musicians. Plus you are cute so thats a big advantage for me. Two is better than one don't you think?" Christian grinned. Maybe he was being a little too forward with him. "You are right. She is too young. I don't think I'm going to allow her to date until she's thirty" He laughed as the little girl brought Aidan's hand up to her mouth to suck on. "Oh yeah..sorry about that. She's teething"
