Jason briefly brushed his thumb gently over her cheek before he pulled his hand back again. “I won’t deny that I’m not sure if I should be happy with all of this but that doesn’t mean I will hate you. If anything it kinda sucks I’m finding out now and not like, two years ago.” Not that he really blamed her for it, it was just such a weird idea…this all.

Adia finally looked up at him, her hazel eyes filled with tears. "Believe me Jason..I wanted to tell you..time only makes things worse. He's growing up without a father. It isn't fair to him.." She wrapped her arms around his middle and hid her face in the bend of his neck, needing the closeness of another person to will the tears to go away. "Would you like to meet him..sometime?"

Jason nodded, seeing no other option than to believe her. Not that he did not wanted to, it was just hard to do so after just finding out. He froze, when she suddenly wrapped her arms around him but he soon relaxed, laying his arms around her. Just holding her, like she apparently wanted him to. He was silent for a little while before he finally answered, “Yeah…I would.” How weird was that? Going to meet your own son? “Does anyone else know? That he’s mine?”

"No..no one knows.." Adia whispered barely audibly. Her parents hadn't looked at her the same way ever since. Two unwanted pregnancies under her belt by the time that she was sixteen with no father in sight, no parent would be proud. "He'll be coming to stay with me for a few days this weekend. We could meet up somewhere? I won't tell him who you are if you don't want me to.."

“Ehm…alright.” Wow this weekend? That was pretty fast! Not that it would matter much, it would be just as weird meeting the little one now as it would three weeks from now anyway. “No that’s okay, you can tell him.” He replied, watching out over to sea as she still held her in his arms. “I know what it’s like to grow up without having a father around, but I’m not sure I can be a father for him starting this weekend Addy.” His own dad was in the military and he wasn’t home much, so Jason knew all about growing up without a father. He would never want that for his own kids but he also couldn’t be a father for Parker just like that.
