So she hadn't told him about her rape baby before? "Skylar is Parker's older sister. She's six.." Adia answered timidly, just knowing that 'whore' would be the next word that rolled off of his tongue. But then that fear disappeared as she took a step back just to witness Jason Owens holding his son for the first time. Parker fit into his arms perfectly. "Promise?"

Jason just looked up at her, but he had no judging eyes. He had always found teenagers shouldn’t get pregnant and raise kids but he would never judge someone before knowing the entire story. “Really? That must have been, or rather still must be pretty tough.” He had no idea if she just liked to sleep around or maybe there was another reason. Anyway, he wasn’t here for that nor did he find it to be any of his business. Which was the exact reason why he didn’t ask. At least not right now.
His eyes left his son and wandered back to Adia again. “Yeah, I promise. I already missed out on two years of his life. I’m not about to make it more.” He was going to be Parker’s father, not just the guy who put him on the world but an actual father. All they needed now was some time.

"Yeah..It can be sometimes..especially when it's just the three of us.." Adia replied with a small nod of the head, glad that he didn't question her. She was in no condition to repeat her story to him, not tonight at least. She lunged for him again, hugging them both tightly and hiding her face in his chest. She couldn't help it, she was a naturally emotional person. "Thank you.."

“It won’t be like that anymore, from now on.” Not that he was her saving angel or the best father on the planet, but at least he could help out. Which would probably be hard at first but Jason hoped things would just run smoothly. Holding Parker with one arm he wrapped the other around Adia and just held her. “Course…” he replied softly, unlike some people Jason did know where his responsibilities were.

Jason might not be able to see it that way but just now Adia saw him as her savior. He was promising to help, something that many of others had stepped up to do for her before. She had lost her teen years to pregnancies and motherhood, maybe now things would start shaping up for her? With his help in the parenting department she was one step closer to her dream. "Just so you know, I don't regret that night. It gave me something special..it gave me my son. I just wish it would have happened differently.."

He wasn’t always around cause of his career that was starting to take form. Still Jason would try to be as much of a good father as he possibly could be. This all would change things, that was for sure but that didn’t have to be all bad things. He knew that as well. “I never regretted it as well, neither then or now. But you’re right, things should have gone differently. There is not much we can do about it now but we can make the future different. At least that is something.”

"Yeah it's something.."Adia nodded her head eagerly, she was ready for a different future. The one she was currently heading into didn't look so bright. She dropped her hands back in her lap, giving him some space. She was sure that he didn't need some insecure girl hanging all over him. This was his and Parker's moment.

Even though she pulled away some Jason’s arm was still around her. Not as tight as it just had been, but lightly, in a way she could easily shake it off if she wanted to. “Tell me something about him. What is she like? What does he like in life?” He had missed a lot of things and the boy he was holding in his arms was his but he didn’t know him.

Believe it or not, Adia was actually glad that he decided to keep his arm around her. It gave her the sense of security and warmth that she needed. "Umm..I don't know where to start. Parker..he’s got a big imagination, let’s just say. He’s really animated in everything he does. He’ll talk your head off for hours about nothing at all if you’d let him. He has an odd fascination with cars and a big temper, as you’ve noticed. Umm..he’s a cuddler, just like his Mum. If you tightened your arm around him a little more he’ll probably stay asleep for several hours. He often climbs into Skylar’s bed at night when I’m not there. She takes good care of her baby brother”

Jason smiled, listening without interrupting her while his eyes moved from Parker to Adia and back again. The car thing he got from his daddy along with him looking like his dad a lot, that was for sure. Jason didn’t know Adia that well but he could see her talk for hours and cuddle with you if you would get to know her. Maybe he would witness that one day.
“Sounds like you got your hands full on him.” he said softly, meaning it all in a good way. Jason knew he wasn’t easy, but he turned out to be an alright guy. Or so had he been told. “It’s weird ya know, having a son but not knowing much about him. Nor knowing his mother for that matter.”

"You could say that.." Adia nodded, reaching out to stroke her sleeping sons cheek once more. Jason really was an alright guy, better than alright. She didn't know any other man that could accept having a two year old son that he hadn't known about until now better than him. "Yeah it is weird..but it doesn't have to be. If you are for real about this then you'll know the two of us soon enough. You can ask me anything you want..about either of us.."

Remembering how Adia just had said that if he would hold Parker a little tighter the little guy would sleep for hours Jason did just that. Course making sure he wouldn’t squash him against his chest. “Yeah I know,” he said, looking up at the pretty girl besides him while smiling.”…I don’t doubt that I will, it’s just…I don’t know...different than I had imagined having my first kid I guess.” There wasn’t much else Jason could do than accepting the fact he had son. Wheter or not he was happy about it would not effect Parker’s existence. The boy was here and Jason couldn’t just pretend he wasn’t alive, that he wasn’t it. “Why did you name him Parker?”

"Not all things end up how we imagine them to be.." Adia replied quietly, rubbing his arm. "I was supposed to be in my late twenties or early thirties. Married possibly to the man of my dreams and getting ready to retire from my modeling career" Thats how it was supposed to be, not a baby bringing another baby into the world like it had ended up. She bit down on her bottom lip as their talk brought back those painful memories.
"I don't know really. I've always wanted to name my children after their fathers but Sky's is.." She paused, refusing to say it. "And you..I had trouble remembering your name a lot..and..I don't know.." Adia frowned.

“Then again, life wouldn’t be as fun as we already knew what it would be like.” Well in certain cases that is. Sometimes things happened you hadn’t foresaw nor wanted to happen. “You could still do all of that, just maybe not in the same order as you had planned.” She was a sweet girl, which made him regret that they hadn’t stayed in touch. If they had things might have gone differently for the both of them.
“You had trouble remembering my first name? Guess I didn’t leave much of a good impression than ey?” he said, joking a little to lighten the mood. “I like his name, it suits him.” But there was something about Skylar’s father that wasn’t so positive. The way she paused was sending a signal something wasn’t right. Jason wasn’t really sure he should ask her about it. So he decided he shouldn’t, at least not at this very moment.

Adia smiled and nodded although she didn't necessarily believe that all of those things could still happen to her. Especially the marriage part, no man had shown any romantic interests in her before. At least not that she knew of. She was just a thing to take advantage of then dispose of just like that. "You left a big impression on me Jason, believe me you did. It's just..we had been drinking that night and I was so confused..but I knew that if I ever saw you again it would all become clear..and it did..I think.." She shrugged.
Adia could see the question in his eyes, the one about her daughter's father. Everyone got that same look when she told them about Skylar for the first time. She quickly averted her eyes to her hands in her lap. She wouldn't say anything, not unless he asked first. Jason had the right to know about his sons sister.
