Cassie sighed as she landed in second position from her fuette's. She had the part of Odette in the upcoming production of Swan Lake, and she needed to get the turns just right. She wiped her forehead, walking back to the stereo, starting the music over again.
She hadn't eaten in three days, she had wanted to be lovely she said to anyone who asked. But she was tired now, working on this routine, helping Michelle deal with Tony, and crushing on Sid made her life pretty complicated.
She sighed, staring at her reflection in the mirror, watching the way her blonde curls escaped her bun and framed her face. Her eyes wide and innocent. Tony's remark about her weight ringing in her ears as she looked down at her body. She was doing so much better, but she could only be expected to gain so much weight as a principal dancer. It was unheard of.
She bit her lip walking to the big windows to press her forehead against the cool glass. This was going to be a long day.

Sid was tired. He hadn't been able to sleep yet again - not like he had in the past, BC - and decided that maybe getting high would help him relax for a while. Things were complicated lately, and though neither Michelle nor Tony had confided in him, he knew more than he should. It was disgusting, the way his friend played with not just the girl he'd loved, but with Juli and Gray, who were so obviously right for each other. Still, it wasn't his place to butt in, so he wouldn't.
Lighting his joint, he took a drag and wandered into a random classroom, not really caring if there was anyone who saw. The music wafted towards him the moment he closed the door behind him, and he looked up at her, at this vision that made it possible to have a BC and AC life - Before and After Cassie.
"Cass, hi" Sid was awkward around her, more than ever really, though he hoped she wouldn't notice. Most girls didn't, he was good at hiding his crushes because every friend he had would only ever see him as that. A friend. And he was a good friend to Cassie, helped her with her eating problems and always complimented her on her dancing - her looks were off limits, too dangerous. So yes. Friends.

She cold see his reflection in the window before she even heard him. Her heart was pounding faster as she saw him. She couldn't really explain what it was about him, he was kind to her, and wonderful. And she was in love with him, was pretty sure that she had been for awhile. He never made her eat, never bugged her about her weight. And she loved that she could be herself with him.
She turned, the smile on her face, and her too big eyes sparkling, "Hey Sid." She swallowed, leaning on the window, "How are you?"

"Hi" He'd already said that, hadn't he? Sid scratched his hair, before tugging down his hat so most of it was covered. She made him horribly uncomfortable, even more so than Michelle, which must mean that this was pretty serious. He remembered the first time he'd noticed her. Really noticed her. Oddly enough it was in a drawing, and he'd been mesmerized without really understanding why.
"Uhm, I'm good. Y'know. The regular." They didn't hang out much, not when it was just the two of them, though it had happened on occasion. He'd spent a night with her at the beach, when she'd been upset. It had been the only time he'd ever touched her, and it was just an arm around her shoulders.

She smiles more, walking towards him, ""Yea, I know." She said softly, "We haven't hung out much lately, Sid. Is it because Tony's being such a wanker? With the whole Gray thing?" She asks cautiously.
She had missed them all hanging out together. Happy friends with parties, and gossip, and just fun times. Even with Tony being how he was, even with him manipulating them all the times, they still had fun, they still had a great time. She danced around him, graceful little circles, "We haven't had a party since the start of term."

"Tony's being Tony. I guess that Michelle is just more upfront about it than she used to be." Which was actually good because he barely ever stood up to his best friend. It wasn't that he was scared, he just didn't trust Tony when he was angry. And he knew that the singer could potentially ruin everything, even between him and Cass - what little there was to ruin.
"We should have a party though. I've been aching for a good fun night. Maybe it should just be me and you, yea? I mean, doesn't seem like most people are in party mode." Had he really just said that? Asked Cassie out on a date sort of thing?
