Christian simply laid there for a moment staring cross eyed up at the ceiling. He was fine all except for the initial shock of falling so suddenly and maybe a small lump or two on the back of his head. He took Aidan's hand when it was offered to him and pulled himself up onto his feet, rubbing at the back of his head. "Yeah..I'm okay.." He mumbled, holding his hands out for Brooklyn.

Aidan handed Brooklyn back to her father afraid he could hurt her too. "I'm sorry" He repeated kissing Christian's cheek. He continued his walk in a safe distance from the two now and held his hands in his pockets. He was clumsy enough for himself. He didn't need to harm others. He chew on his lip looking at his shoes

Christian shrugged his off his apology. He knew that it wasn't his fault, accidents happen. Although his head was now throbbing in pain. Maybe he should make Aidan pay for this? "Let's just say you owe me an ice cream. Strawberry preferably.." He stated absently, setting Brooke down on her feet and taking her hand so she could walk. She had yet to take her first steps on her own. "Hold her other hand will you?"

Ice cream? Just that? He could do that. "Strawberry then" He said taking Brooke's other hand as requested. He still felt bad about the fall and was very careful now walking with the baby at his side. "She's really good at it" He said watching her. "I mean, she's so young and already so brave" Like her father

Christian could make him do a hell of a lot more than just buy him an ice cream, but he wasn't that cruel. Or maybe he was too afraid to get angry at him in fear that he would lose him again. He'd rather pretend that their first break up didn't happen much less any future ones that were bound to occur. "She's been able to walk with help for a couple of weeks now. She has to be strong..and brave..she's a Tait. We have a lot to live up to..It's rather difficult sometimes"

Aidan nodded and smiled though his thoughts weren't happy. Strong and brave. He wasn't like that. Neither strong nor brave. He'd rather lock himself up in his own little world. Though maybe he was brave? He survived nineteen years and was still alive and rather normal, though very suspicious, expecting everyone around to hurt him.

If Aidan looked closely he would notice that Chris wasn't any of those things either, not really. He put on that tough exterior to make people think that he could handle himself and everything that went on his life but really he was a coward in a lot of aspects in his life. If they somehow switched roles Chris doubted he would have been able to survive as well as Aidan has.
Brooke lost her footing just as they stepped outside the double doors, excited that Daddy had taken her somewhere other than a dark dormitory. They hadn't been out to play in ages. "Dada.." She panted, walking a little too fast than what her little boy could keep up with.

Aidan was lost in his thoughts, his face getting darker. He hated it when his brain would set to this mode, thinking and thinking, so hard it almost hurt and was making him dizzy. however, when it happened there was no way out. He couldn't stop it himself. He was chewing on his thumb barely noticing the world around him when a high voice broke through the stream of his thoughts and got his attention. He slowed down almost stopping so Brooke could get some rest

Christian stopped walking and smacked Aidan's thumb out of his mouth gently. Brooke did a sort of face plant into the grass from loss of support from her father, dangling there by the hand that was still enclosed in Aidan's long fingers. Again she didn't cry, she really was a tough girl. "What's gotten into you? I'm the one who's suffering from massive head trauma. If anyone should be sulking then it should be me. You could have at least kissed it" He said it in a sort of a laugh to show that he wasn't angry, just concerned.

"huh? Kissed what?" Aidan asiked looking at Chris with absent eyes, his hand still hanging in the air loosely in the same position it took when Christian smaked it away from Aidan's mouth. His brain was too foggy now to think clearly. To add to his misery his tiny addiction demanded a stress reliever. He reached into his pocket instinctively and...found nothing.

Christian shook his head and sat down on the grass, helping Brooklyn back onto her feet so that she stood in front of him. Two little hands gripping his index fingers tightly to keep herself from falling again. He knew what Aidan was searching for but the man wouldn't find anything. He had disposed of everything that he could find.

Aidan's hand dug deeper and the frown on his forehead grew bigger. He reached into the other pocket, then the back ones. Still nothing. He sat on the grass too running fingers through his hair nervously. He sighed and looket back at Chris and Brooke smiling faintly. "Is she okay?"

"You really think I would allow you to light up right here in front of me? In front of her? You're crazy. It's gone..all of it" Now Christian really was angry. It was obvious what he had been about to do. He turned his attention back towards his daughter, not bothering with returning the fake smile. "She's fine"

"I wasn't going to..in front of her" Aidan answered before he caught the rest of what Chris was saying. Gone? ""What do you mean gone?" He asked quietly not really knowing what to think about it. From one side he was feeling angry. He paid for it and he needed it now. But the other part of him was rather glad it was gone. He needed to get rid of this bad habit. It wasn't healthy and was very expensive. Only he didn't know how to calm down now. He got up and walked a few feets away from them cracking his knuckles nervously

"What do you think Kinney? I threw it all out while you were sleeping. I refuse to date someone who uses that trash. If you have a problem with it then just go.." Christian replied harshly. He couldn't believe that they were having this conversation now. Today was supposed to be a good day.
