Throwing Stones In A Glass Room [Aidan]

It was five in the afternoon, classes had ended over two hours ago and yet there was still light burning in one of the dance practise rooms. Music was playing, the sounds moving through the empty hallway. Most people had either gone off to their rooms or had headed home. Relax some, make some homework or do something else fun. Yet, you still had certain people who didn’t end the day before they were satisfied with their made progress for that day.

A soft sigh. A faint thud of something small falling on the floor. The sound of water splashing all around. This all followed by a louder bang when Reese’s body gave out and crashed onto the floor of the classroom. Right before she got a chance to talk to the first person she had called that was listed in her phone book from her cell phone. While she lied unconscious on the floor, phone in her hand, it still waited for the other person to answer the call.

Aidan was wandering down the corridors when his phone vibrated in the front pocket of his jeans. He pulled it out and answer curious what Reese wanted from him. "Hi" He spoke to the receiver. Silence. "Reese?" Still nothing. He frowned. "Reese, are you there?" He kept walking feeling slightly nervous. It wasn't like her to play joke calls. Somehow his feet managed to carry him to the corridor where the practice rooms were situated. "REESE!" He called to the receiver again. And then something in one of the rooms caught his eyes. Someone was on the floor. He walked to the door and then froze. Luckily it was only for a second. "F*ck" He cursed running to the limp body on the ground and picking the girl up. "Reese"

Reese was still unconscious when Aidan ran into the practice room. Around her the floor was covered with the contents of her bag, clothes were laying everywhere. Water was dripping from her water bottle and the music was still playing in the background. Her head fell to the side as he picked her up from the floor, her long brown hair covering up her face. For the last week Reese had been working her ass off at class and tried to give as many dance classes at the dance school she could every single day. The more she would teach the more money she would be able to earn.

She knew that it would only be a month or two more before she would have to stop working, school would be too intensive then with her being pregnant. But if she stopped working their would be no money left, so right now she had to earn as much as she could. Save as much as she could for her and her baby. And all of that had demanded too much from, so her body had just shut down a few minutes ago.

"Reese, wake up" Aidan said worried shaking her gently. "Reese?" He repeated this time slapping her cheek gently. "Come on, girl. Wake up" He picked up the bottle. There was still some water in it. He poured some onto his hand and splashed her face. He was getting really nervous now. She should have woken up by now

After a few silent minutes Reese’s body suddenly stirred. Her eyes fluttered open, a soft moan leaving her lips. Slowly blinking a few times her sight was a bit blurry at first but soon she found herself to be looking right into a face she knew to belong to one of her close friends. “Aidan?” her voice a soft whisper, as she was confused about what happened and why her head felt like it was going to explode.

Aidan sighed relieved when he felt her move and saw her eyes open. "Thank gods. You're awake" He said brushing hair from her face. "Alre you alright? What happened?" He asked helping her up into a sitting position. His hand went instinctively into her hair to examine her head for any bruises. "You scared me to death"

Leaning on him Reese sat up, propping a bend leg under herself for some support. While leaning a bit forward she breathed in and out deeply before she spoke again. “I’m not sure…” she started slowly, “…I was going to go home to get ready for work. I remember that I wanted to call you for something and then everything is just a bit blurry.” She couldn’t even remember what she had wanted to ask Aidan.

"You work too hard" Aidan pulled her close so she'd lean against his thin chest. "You're pregnant, damnit. You should be resting instead of dancing for hours and then going to work." He was getting really angry with her now. "Why do you do this to yourself?" He asked in a softer voice. She had enough stress and he didn't need to add any to it

Reese let her head rest against his shoulder and closed her eyes. The pounding in her head made her bite her bottom lip. “I’m fine, I’m just tired that’s all.” Alright so she might have danced a bit too much, but she could handle it. “I’m not doing anything to myself.” she replied in defence, cause she wasn’t doing anything. “I can handle it, it’s just dancing and work.” It was just tiring, so she would head to bed earlier. There, problem all solved.

"And a baby that is fully dependant on you. Do you realize that if you keep doing that you might lose it?" He reached into the pocket of his checked suit jacket and pulled out a chocolate bar. "Eat" He said giving it to her. "I know it's not very healthy but it's nourishing. You'll feel stronger and less dizzy. And then we're going home"

“So now I’m a bad mother? Gee thanks a lot.” She snorted, not liking it how he obviously tried to hide that message in his words. Reese would never hurt her baby intentionally and it wasn’t like she fainted all the time. It was just once and the doctor had said that could happen sometimes during pregnancies. Opening her eyes again the next thing she knew Aidan shoved some chocolate in her hands. “No..” she started, taking the chocolate from him but keeping it in her hands, “…I have to go to work.” She had to work, the bills never paid themselves now did they?

"F*ck. Work" Aidan said sternly. It was rare for him to use words like that. "and yes, you're a bad mother now. Your baby needs some rest and a healthy place to grow in while you jump and bounce and give it a constant roller coaster." He continuedpoking her hand. "Eat. And then we're going home. No work, no dancing for today."

“If you’d rather be pleased with me not having a place to live than sure lets fcuk work.” Fine. She had messed up. Worked too hard but she didn’t need him telling her she was a bad mother. Gripping his wrist with one hand she tried to make him stop poke her. “I ate something two hours ago, I’m not hungry.” Although her other hand was gripping her stomach, she did feel a little nauseous.

"Stop being so smart and eat" Aidan ordered taking the chocolate bar from her hands and unwrapping it then raising it to her mouth. "Bite" He said holding it in front of her mouth. "And yes, f*ck work. You can always stay in the dorms here. Besides you can take a few days off. Then do only things that arent that exhausting. And sorry young lady but the dancing is over."

A sudden chill ran down her spine, making her turn her face away from the chocolate only to bury it in Aidan’s chest a moment later. “You want me to stop dancing?” her voice sounding muffled. “…I just have to do two more test to not get behind cause of the pregnancy.” Not that she wanted to stop but she could stop dancing at school and only dance during work. The doctor had said she could dance for another month, maybe a month and half even!
